What is your favorite part about your job?

I love getting the insiders view of all of the different businesses we work with. Some days I get to be a lawyer, physical therapist, or even an AirLink rescue pilot! Every day is different and I just love the variety.

If you could have any super power, what would it be?

Invisible shields, I think that would be the coolest. Not only could I protect people, but I would so use it to give myself a study "Bubble" to read in.

What accomplishment in your life are you most proud of?

I would have to say putting myself through college. I graduated college early while holding down a 40 hour a week job and maintaining a 3.7 GPA. Although, my statics class almost killed me! Some people just aren't made to do math...

What is the best advice you’ve been given?

"Everything in moderation, including moderation."

What brings you the greatest joy about your job?

Having the opportunity to bring our clients vision to life. I think it is really rewarding when my clients see their ideas in a video that can be shared with the world.

What do you do when not working?

I really enjoy figure skating and knitting. Though I find myself often knitting items for figure skating. It's good to find an activity to keep your body moving and healthy, and another activity to quiet your mind. I'm lucky the two complement each other so well.

If you could only share one thing that everyone should know about videography, what would it be?

Remember to be yourself. You may not be a professionally trained actor, but you are professionally trained in your industry. People want to see the real you.

What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?

I am incredibly clumsy!  I have fallen down and off things often more time than I can count. However I have never been seriously injured. Lucky for me I tend to bounce, not break!

What is your favorite part about your job?

I love the first meeting with a new client and digging in to their passions and getting excited about their business, it keeps me coming back time after time.

If you could have any super power, what would it be?

The most fun super power would be the ability to borrow others skills for a time: want to go skiing? Or become an expert for the day, scuba? Yep done it for years!

What accomplishment in your life are you most proud of?

I came from a small town where everyone was born, lived, and died without leaving.  Facing down the naysayers and moving to Colorado with nearly nothing was one of the hardest things I have ever done but it made all the difference.

What is the best advice you've been given?

My great grandfather had lived a very hard life and didn't like people whining around him.  When I was 10 or so he sat me down and told me "In life bad things are going to happen and most of them are your fault, you don't have a choice in that,  but you do have a choice in how to react to them."  Harsh words but they have gotten me through the rough spots in life.

What brings you the greatest joy about your job?

Watching people be amazed how great they look and sound on camera. Our editing team work miracles often turning 3 hours of film into something less than one minute.

What do you do when not working?

I like to keep a balance in my life as much as possible. I read two or three books a week, but also make sure I have time to do something physical and fun like racquetball.

If you could only share one thing that everyone should know about videography, what would that be?

You are not going to look and sound stupid on camera.  Everyone feels that way, but even Hollywood actors get take after take to deliver a line and then that line is chopped up and put back together to find the best moments.  We will do the same for you and you will look great!

What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?

At one time, I was on the national dance circuit for competitive ballroom dancing.

What is your favorite part about your job?

I love watching a story unfold. Knowing the actions and words I capture will live a thousand times and reach the eyes and ears of people I will never meet.

If you could have any super power, what would it be?

A Perfect Memory, I could be The Mnemonic Man, Savior of lost keys and forgetful people everywhere.... what was I saying?

What accomplishment in your life are you most proud of?

I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you... and that's just so messy.

What is the best advice you've been given?

Good Judgment comes from Experience, Experience comes from Bad Judgment. - My Dad

What brings you the greatest joy about your job?

At the confluence of Discipline, Creativity, and Practice there's a calming joy in watching a scene be captured by the camera.

What do you do when not working?

I play video games, I love to ride my bike on warm days, and lately I've started practicing with an R/C Helicopter. As cheesy as it sounds I also spend a lot of my free time reading and learning how to do my job better.

If you could only share one thing that everyone should know about Videography, what would that be?

Trust the sound man to tell you the truth. If he says you need to wear a microphone, you need to wear a microphone.  It's all too easy to have a great video ruined because there's a bad echo or the audio sounds like it was recorded in a tin can.

What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?

I'm actually Batman.

What?

You didn't say it had to be true. Admit it you were surprised.

Edit: The boss says it has to be true....

I lived 6 years in the US. Air Force, I earned an honorable discharge and I will always be proud of the Men and Women I served with.

What is your favorite part about your job?

Working with the people on our team.  It is such an amazing group of people to get to work with, it doesn’t even feel like work.

If you could have any super power, what would it be?

This is a hard one, there are so many great ones.  I’d have to say Force Persuasion or Jedi Mind Tricks.

What accomplishment in your life are you most proud of?

I’d have to say the accomplishment that I am most proud of is getting my black belt in taekwondo.  It was something that I spent many years working toward and to have actually gotten it and see all of my work pay off was an incredible feeling.

What is the best advice you’ve been given?

Never go to bed angry

What brings you the greatest joy about your job?

Getting to do something that I have always loved.  Film has been one of my passions for a long time and getting to something that involves it is amazing.

What do you do when not working?

I typically am with family and/or friends if I’m not working.  I also love to read and watch movies.  And sometimes I write.

If you could only share one thing that everyone should know about videography, what would it be?

It is a ton of fun, especially when you work with people who make you feel comfortable.

What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?

Well two things I gave away in previous answers (I’m a huge Star Wars fan and a black belt), so I will go with that I love being up in the mountains.  I typically prefer it to being in a big city.
